Witnessing Life

Hi there, my name is Sara Nevels. I'm a recent graduate from Arizona State University with a BA in Human Communication. I am deeply inspired by creativity and originality. Oh, and sometimes I dabble in that myself.

My life consists of a lovely family, great friends, a hilariously adorable mutt, more sunshine than my pasty skin sometimes desires, loads of art (photography, film, theatre, live music, fashion shows, art galleries, etc), and an undeniable need for more.

Editorial: Much ado about nothing | ASU Web Devil - ASU's Online News Source

When I was young and stupid…as if I’m old and wise, ha!…I wanted to go anywhere but ASU. I listened to the media, and the local gossip about the ASU stereotypes, thinking it was a ridiciously crappy in-state school. But having been a Sun Devil now for 2+ years, I have more school spirit than I ever thought I would! I finally recognized it after reading this article; I am outraged by how the national news media is currently portraying ASU. I wholeheartedly support everything the author(s) wrote in this article. I am so excited to attend Commencement, and could care less if Obama is or is not earning an honory degree….why? Because I’M THE ONE EARNING A REAL DEGREE. The fact that he’s speaking just makes it 10x more memorable, but it shouldn’t overshadow the students. This is our moment, not his. I support the University’s decision in staying true to its principles.
